Positive: We absolutely loved this amazing beachfront property — it was the perfect place for our honeymoon. The peaceful atmosphere and stunning sunsets made it truly unforgettable. Bert, the owner, couldn’t have been more helpful — he was attentive, friendly, and always happy to assist with any enquiries.

Negative: There aren’t many restaurants or bars within walking distance — just a couple of options — but the property has a lovely kitchen that’s perfect for cooking your own meals.

Positive: The villa itself was fantastic, a wonderfully appointed comfortable little space to relax. The sound of the ocean was nice and soothing. The sand in front of the villas was raked clean every morning.

Negative: We did not like the fact that the private beach was unusable because it was covered with a seaweed swath about 5 feet wide and the water was full of seaweed and un-swimable. The local that cleaned the sand in front of the villas called the water "dirty". According to the host the is a seasonal occurrence. We understand that no one controls nature, but if this seasonal occurrence creates an unusable beach and swim area, we believe that this issue should have been explained clearly in the description. We imagined swimming in the mornings and evenings on the private beach when we booked and paid the premium price of this Villa for that experience. Consequently we were very disappointed that was not possible during our stay and seemingly for a good portion of the season. There is also construction on-going next to the villa we stayed in.

Summary: Wonderful Villa, Not so Belle Plage - Beware the season you book!

Positive: The villa was quiet a ways from the shops and restaurants but that’s ok we hired a car and cooked local fish each night . Nice sunsets 🌅

Negative: We were not warned that the private beach is not swimmable between May and September, due to massive amounts of sea grass ! We had to drive 45 minutes each day to Anse Lazio on the other side of the island for swimming . People need to be prepared for that disappointment. Coming from Australia we had no idea it was something on this Island we would have stayed on the other side. Also the living area is not air conditioned so it made it extremely hot to cook . One day we forgot to switch off bedroom aircon and someone entered and turned it off and also ceiling fans , it felt invasive to say the least . Also came back to a hot house . The only time we saw the owner was when he came to collect money for taxes and then to say goodbye and making sure we were leaving by 10 am! Such a shame !

Summary: Disappointed a beach full of weed . No swimming possible

Positive: Very friendly host, thank you Bert 😊. Good equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. The highlight is obviously the beach just 5 meters away from the apartment

Negative: Only negative is the massive amount of sea grass due to the current wind conditions in the bay

Positive: Bert villa is a hidden gem. He is a terrific host and manages three villas that open up right on the beach front. The villa was well detailed and maintained. The kitchen had all possible utensils and care was taken to provide for beach towels and reserved beach furniture for each villa. Internet was fast and accessible from all areas of the property. Bert was prompt with help and gave us several valuable tips and advice from before our trip through to the end. I highly recommend Villa Belle Plage. We will be sure to come back. Thank you.

Positive: The chalet is really like in the pictures. It's clean and comfortable, and most importantly it's directly on a private sandy beach, with an amazing view of the sea. I really liked that you get a pass to Anse Georgette, so you can enter the beach through the golf course any time by a 30 minutes walk.. The host is very kind and helpful, he does his best to make your stay special. He organized the transfer for us from the jetty, a day trip to Curieuse island, and gave useful advice on nearby activities.

Negative: If I have to mention something, it's seagrass... There were a lot, making swimming impossible in the private beach area. Also it was a bit smelly. Nevertheless, the kids enjoyed playing on the beach, collecting shells and climbing the trees.
